Janelle Campbell M.S.W., R.S.W is the owner and operator of Self Wellness Counselling and Mental Health Services in Toronto. With over 15 years in the social service sector, Janelle has worked for various organizations, which has allowed her to identify gaps in the system that does not always support the racialized community. Her years in the field has allowed her to adapt a culturally focused lens that promotes empowerment, knowledge, validation, storytelling, and capacity over ones mental health.
Her professional focus is in the area of anti-Black racism, systemic racism, racial trauma, intergenerational trauma, and imposter syndrome. Janelle’s theoretical framework is anti- Black racism, anti-oppression, trauma-informed, and strength based. She provides workshops/training, clinical consultations to social workers and mental health organizations.
Janelle is an experienced trainer and is known for her direct approach in naming and addressing anti-Black racism. Her direct approach coupled with her ability to create safety, validation, and growth creates an environment that is engaging and thought provoking.
